CHRIS WALLACE INTERVIEW MARCO RUBIO ON FOX 5/6/2012
I've been torn between Senator Rob Portman of Ohio and Senator Marco Rubio of Florida for the GOP Vice Presidential spot. Marco Rubio was on "FOX News Sunday With Chris Wallace" today. OMG, the dude was AWESOME!!! He did not miss a step; sharp, sensible, intelligent answers to every question. I was amazed at how smart this guy is. Don't know for sure, but, you might be able to see the interview on FOX.

Chaffetz to Democrats: Where Are Your Guts on Fast and Furious?
By Katie Pavlich 5/10/2012
During debate on the amendment, Chaffetz called on Democrats to step up and hold the Justice Department accountable and to demand documents requested from DOJ about Fast and Furious be provided to Congress.
My challenge to members on both sides of the aisle is to stand up and have the integrity to say that we have a dead U.S. agent; we have a department of justice that lied to congress. Where are the guts in this body to stand up and say, "we're not going to put up with that." We're going to demand these documents be provided to the congress. We know because the inspector general within the Department of Justice has said they have 80,000 documents, they've given congress about 7,000 of those documents. This is the test of principle, this is the test of integrity, and when you can't stand up and take on your own party, that's a lack of guts. This congress has got to stand up for itself, and demand that these documents be released. I would encourage members on both sides of the aisle, at the very least, vote for this amendment. I can't imagine any reason why anybody would deny the passage of this amendment. We're not going to allow taxpayer dollars to be used to lie to congress, unfortunately we have been lied to. That's the reason why we have to do this amendment. It's embarrassing that you have to even get to this point, but, madam chair, Brian Terry's family expected the integrity of -- expected, the integrity of this body demands and we cannot rest until we get to the bottom of that, regardless whether it's republican or democrat.
Chaffetz's remarks came just one day after Chairman of the House Oversight Committe Darrell Issa sent a letter to Democrat Rep. Jason Altmire reminding him of the bipartisan push for Fast and Furious accountability a year ago.
"On June 3, 2011, you and 30 fellow House Democrats wrote to the President 'to express [your] serious concerns about the Administration's response' to the congressional investigation into Operation Fast and furious. In your letter, you urged the President to 'instruct the Department of Justice to promptly provide complete answers to all Congressional inquiries on the issue.

Eleven months later, the Department of Justice has failed to provide those complete answers," the letter read. "Given the special interest expressed in your prior letter, I now write enclosing a package of documents sent to Members of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform last week. This package includes a a draft contempt report detailing the Justice Department's refusal to cooperate with the congressional inquiry into Fast and Furious. You will find the Departments' actions fail woefully short of full compliance with a congressional subpoena. Thank you for your continued support of our efforts to fulfill our shared constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch."
Issa has given Eric Holder the option avoid contempt charges so long as he complies with a congressional subpoena issued back in October 2011.
President Obama has done anything but hold his attorney general accountable for Fast and Furious. In fact, Obama has said he has "full faith and confidence" in the way Holder has handled things. Not to mention, Obama has threatened to veto the latest House budget because it doesn't include funding to enforce DOJ's new long gun reporting/gun control measure. The measure was issued after DOJ used law abiding gun shop owners in southern border states as a scape goat for their deadly Operation Fast and Furious and requires dealers report the sale of one or more semi-automatic rifles larger than a .22-caliber to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Unfortunetly, according to the Washington Examiner, the House budget does include a funding increase for ATF, the agency DOJ used to carry out gunwalking during Fast and Furious.
House appropriators are set to give the agency that handled Operation Fast and Furious the exact funding requested by Obama, which is an increase in funding since last year.
"The legislation contains $1.2 billion for the [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives] ATF, $1 million above fiscal year 2012 and the same as the [president's] request," the House Appropriations Committee explained last month.
Obama has threatened to veto this appropriations bill because, among other things, it limits the gun control authority of ATF.
"Preventing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives from requiring licensed firearms dealers in four border States o report information on the sale of multiple rifles or shotguns to the same person would hamper efforts to address the problem of illegal gun trafficking along the Southwest Border and in Mexico," the Executive Office of the President said in a statement on the legislation.
Today, Rep. Gosar, who drafted a "no confidence" resolution against Holder that now has 108 co-sponsors, will lead a Special Order on the House Floor in an effort to open the Fast and Furious debate to the entire Congress.
The bottom line: Brian Terry is dead, Jaime Zapata is dead, hundred if not thousands of Mexicans are dead as a result of Fast and Furious. We need answers.

Sarah Palin Endorses Ted Cruz For U.S. Senate In Texas
Sarah Palin made an endorsement Thursday in the Texas Republican primary for U.S. Senate, backing the Tea Party-supported Ted Cruz, a former state solicitor general.
"We’re proud to join conservatives in Texas and throughout the nation in supporting your campaign to become the next senator from the Lone Star State," Palin wrote in response to a letter from Cruz, according to his campaign. “Your conservative principles, passionate defense of our Constitution and our free market system come at a time when these cornerstones of our freedom and prosperity are under attack. Our shared goal isn’t just to change the majority in control of the Senate, but to assure principled conservatives like you are there to fight for us.”
Cruz, who also won endorsements from Ron and Rand Paul, said he was honored to have Palin's support, calling her an inspiration to conservatives nationwide.
"She is principled and passionate and never afraid to speak truth to establishment power," he said, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Cruz's campaign manager, John Drogin, said that the endorsement gave the campaign a boost in fundraising and buzz.
"Phones are ringing, online contributions are pouring in, and supporters are more excited than ever on our social networks," he wrote in an email to Yahoo! News.
Early voting is already underway for the Texas GOP primary, which takes place May 29. Cruz's rivals include frontrunner Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, former Dallas mayor Tom Leppert and former sports commentator Craig James.
Palin has weighed in on a number of 2012 congressional races. In April, she backed Richard Mourdock, who successfully defeated Sen. Richard Lugar in the Republican primary for Indiana Senate. On Wednesday, she endorsed underdog state Sen. Deb Fischer in Nebraska's U.S. Senate race.

Newsweek Calls Obama the First Gay President
By Katie Pavlich
It seems as if Newsweek may have jumped the shark with its latest cover implying President Obama isn't just a supporter of gay marriage, but that he is actually gay himself.
The news-magazine, which hits stands today, is using the shock factor of labeling the straight, married, father-of-two President to draw attention to itself.
Last week, Obama touted his pro-gay marriage stance on his Twitter page and on his campaign website.
And of course, the cover article is written by Andrew Sullivan, the same writer who heavily questioned whether Trig Palin was really Sarah Palin's son.
President Obama is taking full advantage of his "coming out" moment on gay marraige and will head to a swanky NYC fundraisier with gay singer Ricky Martin today.
Obama is heading to the Rubin Museum of Art in Chelsea for a $5,000-a-ticket fundraiser co-hosted by the LGBT Leadership Council and openly gay singer Ricky Martin.
Ricky Martin is also an admirer and fan of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez...

BREAKING: Democrat-Held Senate Rejects Obama's Horrific Budget, 99-0
By Guy Benson 5/16/2012
For the second consecutive year, the Democrat-controlled United States Senate has unanimously rejected President Obama's 2013 budget. The final vote was 99-0, making the the running two-year tally 196-0. This move follows the House of Representatives' 414-0 rebuke of the same fiscal blueprint earlier this year. Astonishingly, not a single Senate Democrat has voted in favor of any budget for three years, even as they refuse to offer a plan of their own. Democrats have claimed that three fig leaves mitigate this embarrassing spectacle:
(1) "The Senate has already passed a budget!" False. The Senate has not passed a budget. It "deemed" itself a budget as part of a separate piece of legislation over the summer. That law did not address tax policy, entitlement programs, and a slew of other items that a real budget entails. Harry Reid's hand-picked Senate Parliamentarian has confirmed Republicans' contention that the Senate has not fulfilled its basic budgetary obligations. This is the 1,113th day in a row that this has been the case.
(2) "Republican obstructionism!" False. Budgets explicitly cannot be filibustered. If Democrats introduced a budget, whipped their members, and called a vote, it would pass. Simple as that. Republicans couldn't do a thing to stop it. But that would require Democrats to put their long-term plans on paper, which they've been avoiding like the plague for entirely political reasons.
(3) "This vote is a gimmick!" If Democrats want to label an up-or-down vote on a Democratic president's budget a "gimmick," they're welcome to do so. In some ways, it's an appropriate description, given the pitiful gimmicks upon which Obama's budget relies -- even to achieve the fraudulent "savings" it claims. Had it not been defeated by Congress 513-0, Obama's budget would have added $11 Trillion to the gross national debt. It would literally never balance.
The Senate will now move on to vote on four separate Republican-proposed budgets, including the House-passed version. They will all receive more votes than President Obama's brainchild, but none is expected to pass. Stay tuned for updates...
UPDATE - The Senate has defeated the House-passed Ryan budget, 41-58. I counted five Republicans joining Democrats in voting it down, at least one of whom voted no because it doesn't go far enough. Democrats voted in lockstep against this budget, as they have on every proposed budget for the last three years. Head-to-head tally: Paul Ryan 41 - Barack Obama 0
UPDATE II - The Senate has defeated Senator Pat Toomey's (R-PA) budget resolution, 42-57. This is the seventh consecutive proposed Senate budget that has failed to attract even one Democrat vote.
