“Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar” and “El Rostro de la Venganza” Drew Record-Breaking Ratings Among Key Demos
MIAMI – January 30, 2013 – Telemundo Media kicks off the year by delivering its best January performance in its history among Monday through Sunday primetime viewers, fueled by strong performances from original programming, such as “La Patrona,” “Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar,”,“El Rostro de la Venganza,” and blockbuster films including “Ice Age” and “Transformers”, according to Nielsen. The network was up 3% with 1,381,000 total viewers and 726,000 among adults 18-49, up 4%.
Additionally, the network delivered its best season-to-date week in Monday through Friday primetime with an average 1,564,000 total viewers and 802,000 adults 18-49 for the week of January 21. In Monday through Sunday programming, the week of January 21st ranked as Telemundo’s highest rated week of the season drawing season-to-date highs with 776,000 adults 18-49. During the same period, the network brought the second highest rated week of the season among total viewers with 1,455,000 viewers.
In the three-week period since the **noallow** of UniMás, Telemundo secured its position over the network during Monday through Sunday prime, with a +124% lead among total viewers (1,411,000 vs. 630,000) and +107% among adults 18-49 (738,000 vs. 356,000).
“Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar” (7pm): The Emmy-nominated court show delivered its best monthly performance ever among total viewers, a record-breaking 1.7 million average viewers, and posted its strongest delivery among adults 18-49 in more than a year with 772,000 viewers. During the week of January 21, the show garnered its highest weekly average since the week of December 10, with 808,000 adults 18-49.
“Pasion Prohibida” (8pm): The series averaged an impressive 1.3 million total viewers and 661,000 adults 18-49 in its first week. Additionally, “Pasion Prohibida” saw online success with 137,100 streams, 37,955 unique visitors and 281,842 page views.
“La Patrona” (9pm): Telemundo’s popular original averaged 1.5 million total viewers and 781,000 adults 18-49, growing the time period year-over-year by 13% and 6%, respectively. On the digital front, “La Patrona” delivered 531,840 online streams, 75,831 unique visitors and 754,573 page views.
“Pablo Escobar: El Patrón del Mal” (10pm): On January 24, the final episode of the hit novela delivered the second highest rated finale in the network history, behind the smash success of “La Reina del Sur” (Queen of the South), with over 2.3 million viewers and nearly 1.4 million adults 18-49.
“El Final de Pablo Escobar” (10pm): The special program on January 25, hosted by Emmy award winner Maria Celeste Arrarás, delivered an average audience of 1.5M total viewers and 839,000 adults 18-49.
“El Rostro de la Venganza” (10:30pm): The beloved drama set a new high, averaging over one million total viewers and 603,000 viewers among adults 18-49 in January.
“Noticiero Telemundo” (6:30pm): The news program was up year-over-year with 10% growth in total viewers (885,000 vs. 806,000) and 7% growth among adults 18-49 (377,000 vs. 351,000).
Telemundo aired seven of the top 10 primetime movies, including the top three, on Spanish-language television in January with total viewers and adults 18-49. Among total viewers, "Ice Age" delivered 1.47 million, "The Incredibles" brought 1.41 million and “Jumper” carried 1.36 million. Among adults 18-49, “Jumper” attracted 872,000 viewers, "Ice Age" garnered 830,000 viewers, and "Transformers" drew 830,000 viewers.
