Akin’s Opposition to Rape Exception Vs. Obama’s Infanticide Support
Life News ^ | August 20, 2012 | Jill Stanek

obama cartoon life birth abortion by refreshed

Right now I am in Sioux City, Iowa, preparing to begin a 10 day, 30 city, 6 state bus tour today with the Susan B. Anthony List team.

My entire focus and role on the tour is to expose Barack Obama’s radical support of infanticide as part and parcel of the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion, as he saw it and said it. As Illinois state senator Obama opposed the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act, designed to give abortion survivors constitutional rights. Obama said giving premature born babies rights would be unconstitutional. Period. That’s what he said.

Read page 86 of the senate floor transcript, when Obama was the only senator to speak against Born Alive. Read what Obama said very carefully:

Whenever we define a pre-viable fetus as a person that is protected by the Equal Protection Clause or other elements of the Constitution, what we’re really saying is, in fact, that they are persons that are entitled to the kinds of protections that would be provided to a – a child, a 9-month-old – child that was delivered to term.

That determination then, essentially, if it was accepted by a court, would forbid abortions to take place. I mean, it – it would essentially bar abortions, because the Equal Protection Clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this is a child, then this would be an anti-abortion statute. For that purpose, I think it would probably be found unconstitutional.

Obama’s support of abortion to the point of condoning infanticide could not be clearer. It is grotesque, barbaric, sick and yes, crazy. It is the radical belief of our current president of the United States.

And the press continues to minimize, distort, rationalize, or ignore it, because the press is pro-abortion and likes Obama.

But the press will take a guy who believes babies shouldn’t be murdered because their fathers are rapists and call that guy grotesque, barbaric, sick, and crazy.

Which brings us to Missouri U.S. Senate Republican hopeful Todd Akin, who admirably opposes a rape/incest exception for abortion but who explained his **noallow** Sunday in a way that appeared calloused toward rape victims. Wrote Erickson in a great piece this morning:

Todd Akin, the Republican Senate nominee in Missouri, made an inarticulate and rather dumb statement about rape and abortion on television in Missouri. He subsequently clarified his remarks.Congressman Akin, like many devout Christians, does not believe in a rape exception for abortion.

Naturally, the very same left that gave Joe Biden a pass on his “put y’all back in chains” comment is horri[fie]d by Todd Akin’s remarks.

Todd Akin was inarticulate. Some are now accusing him of being pro-rape. The people horri[fie]d by Todd Akin’s remarks are, I’m sure, thrilled to have a President who defended infanticide. I’ll take Todd Akin’s inarticulate remarks over an infanticide supporter any day of the week.

Obama: 'Rape is rape'

And abortion is murder.

Crony Socialism: Obama Gives $737  Million to Solar Firm Linked to the Pelosi Clan

by Jim Hoft on 9,28,2011

It’s as if Solyndra never happened. The Obama Administration  is giving $737 million to a Tonopah Solar, a subsidiary of California-based  SolarReserve. PCG is an investment partner with SolarReserve. Nancy Pelosi’s  brother-in-law happens to be the number two man at PCG.

Team Obama is spending $737 million to  create 45 permanent jobs.

The Hill reported, via Free Republic:

The Energy Department announced Wednesday that is has  finalized a $737 million loan guarantee for a Nevada solar project.

The decision comes several weeks after a California-based  solar manufacturer that received a $535 million loan guarantee from the Obama  administration in 2009 filed for bankruptcy and laid off 1,100 workers, setting  off a firestorm in Washington.

The $737 million loan guarantee will help finance construction  of the Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project, a 110-megawatt  solar-power-generating facility in Nye County, Nev. The project is sponsored by  Tonopah Solar, a subsidiary of California-based SolarReserve.

Crescent Dunes is the latest solar project to receive a loan  guarantee from the Energy Department in recent weeks. The department announced a  $1.2 billion loan guarantee to Abengoa Solar for a solar generation project in  California and a $150 million loan guarantee to 1366 Technologies for a  Massachusetts solar manufacturing project earlier this month.

The Energy Department says the project will result in 600  construction jobs and 45 permanent jobs.

Obamunism:  Failed Socialism  mixed with Crony  Capitalism

I am surprised this has not been a term coined  before- it is  way too easy.

Under Obama we have all the failures of  Socialism, combined  with all the corruption and greed of Crony Capitalism,  "Obamunism"

He buys votes by giving away money on iidiotic  social  programs, illegal aliens, big bank donors, and he gets campaign  donations from  'green energy' and other businesses whose primary purpose  seems to be going  bankrupt within a year and flushing away billions of  dollars.

All while the media propagandists talk up how  wonderful all  this is, and how we should have more of it.

Re: Esta vez no votare por OBAMA

BEST SUMMATION OF BARACK AND  MICHELLE  I have ever read....

Mychal Massie is a   respected writer and talk show host in Los Angeles.

The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I   didn't like the  Obama’s. Specifically I was asked: "I have to ask, why  you  hate the Obama's? It seems personal, not policy related. You even  dissed  (disrespect) their Christmas family picture."

The truth is I do not like the Obama’s, what they  represent,  their ideology, and I certainly do not like his policies and  legislation. I've made no secret of my contempt for the  Obama’s. As  I responded to the person who asked me the aforementioned  question, I don't like  them because they are committed to the fundamental  change of my/our country into  what can only be regarded as a Communist  state.

I don't hate them per definition, but I condemn them  because  they are the worst kind of racialists, they are elitist Leninists  with contempt  for traditional America. They display disrespect for the  sanctity of the office  he holds, and for those who are willing to admit  same, Michelle Obama's raw  contempt for white America is  transpicuous.

I don't like them because they comport themselves as  emperor  and empress. I expect, no I demand respect, for the Office of  President and a  love of our country and her citizenry from the leader  entrusted with the  governance of same. President and  Mrs. Reagan  displayed an unparalleled love for the country and her people.  The Reagan's made  Americans feel good about themselves and about what we  could accomplish. His  arrogance by appointing 32 leftist czars and  constantly bypassing congress is  impeachable. Eric Holder is probably the  MOST incompetent and arrogant DOJ head  to ever hold the job. Could you  envision President Reagan instructing his  Justice Department to act like  jack-booted thugs?

Presidents are politicians and all   politicians are known and pretty much expected to   manipulate the truth, if not outright lie, but even using that low standard,  the  Obama's have taken lies, dishonesty, deceit, mendacity, subterfuge  and  obfuscation to new depths. They are verbally abusive to the citizenry,  and they  display an animus for civility.

I do not like them because they both display bigotry  overtly,  as in the case of Harvard Professor Louis Gates, when he accused  the Cambridge  Police of acting stupidly and her code speak pursuant to now  being able too be  proud of America. I view that statement and that Mindset  as an insult to those  who died to provide a country where a Kenyan, his  illegal alien relatives, and  his alleged progeny, could come and not only  live freely, but rise to the  highest, most powerful, **noallow** in the  world. Michelle Obama is free to hate  and disparage whites because  Americans of every description paid with their  blood to ensure her right  to do same.

I have a saying, that "the only reason a person hides  things,  is because they have something to hide." No  president  in history has spent over a million dollars to keep his records  and his past  sealed. And what the two of them have shared has been proved  to be lies. He lied  about when and how they met, he lied about his  mother's death and problems with  insurance, Michelle lied to a crowd  pursuant to nearly $500,000 bank stocks they  inherited from his family. He  has lied about his father's military service,  about the civil rights  movement, ad nausea. He lied to the world about the  Supreme Court in a  State of the Union address. He berated and publicly insulted  a sitting  Congressman. He has surrounded himself with the most rabidly, radical,   socialist academicians today. He opposed rulings  that  protected women and children that even Planned Parenthood did not  seek to  support. He is openly hostile to business and aggressively hostile  to Israel.  His wife treats being the First Lady as her personal American  Express Black Card  (arguably the most prestigious credit card in the  world). I condemn them  because, as people are suffering, losing their  homes, their jobs, their  retirements, he and his family are arrogantly  showing off their life of  entitlement - as he goes about creating and  fomenting class warfare.

I don't like them, and I neither apologize nor retreat from  my  public condemnation of them and of his policies. We should condemn them  for the  disrespect they show our people, for his willful and  unconstitutional actions  pursuant to obeying the Constitutional parameters  he is bound by, and his  willful disregard for Congressional  authority.

Dislike for them has nothing to do with the color of  their  skin; it has everything to do with their behavior, attitudes, and  policies. And  I have open scorn for their constantly playing the race  card.

It is my intention to do all within my ability to ensure  their  reign is one term. I could go on, but let me conclude with this. I  condemn in  the strongest possible terms the media for refusing to  investigate them, as they  did President Bush and President Clinton, and  for refusing to label them for  what they truly are. There is no scenario  known to man, whereby a white  president and his wife could ignore laws,  flaunt their **noallow**, and lord  over the people, as these two are  permitted out of fear for their  color.

As I wrote in a syndicated column titled, "Nero in the  White  House" - "Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I  witnessed such  dishonesty in a political leader. He is the most mendacious  political figure I  have ever witnessed. Even by the low standards of his  presidential predecessors,  his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is  unequalled. Many in America wanted  to be proud when the first person of  color was elected president, but instead,  they have been witness to a  congenital liar, a woman who has been ashamed of  America her entire life,  failed policies, intimidation, and a commonality  hitherto not witnessed in  political leaders. He and his wife view their life at  our expense as an  entitlement - while America's people go homeless, hungry and   unemployed."

OBAMA SE OPONE A LA PROHIBICION DEL INFANTICIDO

Extremities and Enormities: OBAMA OPPOSED A BAN ON PARCIAL-BIRTH ABORTION (Infanticide)

NRO The Editors

The conjunction of the Todd Akin controversy with the Republican-platform hearings has enabled the media to follow one of its favorite scripts: My, aren’t those Republicans extreme on abortion.

The unshocking truth is that the Republicans are indeed to the right of public opinion on abortion, as the Democrats are to its left. The distance between the Democrats and the median voter on the issue is not a subject on which journalists in Washington, D.C., or New York City dwell much, because they themselves tend to be rather closer to the former.

Reporting on this gap might require, for example, explaining what the Supreme Court has actually held about abortion: that it is a constitutional right that cannot be effectively prohibited at any stage of pregnancy for any reason. The Court has held that abortion must always be available, even late in pregnancy, when it would serve a woman’s “emotional” or “familial” health.

Eighty-six percent of Americans in the last Gallup poll thought that abortion should be illegal in the third trimester. The vast majority of them have no idea that when President Obama insists that his Supreme Court nominees pledge fealty to the jurisprudence of reproductive rights, he means that these abortions should remain beyond the reach of the law. (Successful prosecutions of such abortions since Roe can be counted on one hand, and have required freakish circumstances to go forward.) Asked in 2003 about third-trimester abortions, Obama replied, “I’m pro-choice.”

The Democratic party insists not just that restrictions on abortion are unwise or mistaken, but that the Supreme Court should not allow them. The Republican party has never appointed justices, or called for appointing justices, who would block legislatures from allowing abortion.

The press, now busy drawing out possible logical implications of bills Paul Ryan has sponsored, has never conveyed the facts about Obama’s votes and statements on abortion. As a state legislator he opposed giving infants who survive abortion legal protection, on the theory that giving them protection might undermine the sacred holding of Roe. The press fell for every one of the 2008 Obama campaign’s conflicting attempts to explain away his stance.

Obama opposed a ban on partial-birth abortion that most Americans and even many Democratic legislators favored; he believed the Court should not allow it. During his campaign he explained that he believed that abortion should receive taxpayer funding — another fact that the press has kept well hidden.

As president, he has appointed two justices to the Supreme Court on the condition (to take his earlier words to heart) that they not reconsider the constitutional validity of Roe. He has opposed a ban on abortions for sx selection, putting him out of step with the vast majority of Americans. And he apparently opposes a bill to ban late-term abortions in Washington, D.C.

During the 2008 campaign, Obama was asked when he thought that a baby gained human rights. He said it was above his “pay grade.” From his record we can infer that his answer is: some time after birth.

Mitt Romney’s view — that we should allow abortion policy to be set democratically, and within democratic fora work toward the end of abortion with exceptions for rape and incest — is light years closer to the median voter than is Obama’s pposition. That’s a scoop no reporter is going to get a Pulitzer for.

Abortion survivor lambasts Obama infanticide vote in ‘withering’ new ad
Life Site News ^ | August 29, 2012 | JOHN JALSEVAC

CHICAGO, August 29, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – If Melissa Ohden had been born in President Obama’s Illinois, she might not be alive today. That’s the uncomfortable implication of a hard-hitting new ad released by the Susan B. Anthony List this week, featuring Ohden, who was born alive after a failed saline infusion abortion in 1977.

In the ad Ohden draws attention to the fact that during his time as an Illinois state senator, Obama cast four votes against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA), a bill that mandated that doctors must try to save the life of babies born alive after failed abortions.

The bill was introduced after pro-life nurse Jill Stanek witnessed babies being born alive after failed abortions, then being brought to a room in the Illinois hospital where she worked and left to die.

“Is this the kind of leadership that will move us forward, leadership that would discard the least and the weakest among us?” Ohden asks in the ad.

Since running for president, Obama has claimed that he “would have” voted for BAIPA if it had included a clause found in a federal version of the bill that stated the bill would have no effect on legal abortion. However, the National Right to Life Committee has uncovered evidence that Obama was presented with a state version that did have that clause, and he still voted against it.

According to documents obtained by NRLC, Obama presided as the chair at a committee meeting where the abortion-protecting clause was inserted into the bill. Almost immediately after it was inserted, Obama voted to kill the bill.

The new ad is already receiving considerable attention after being linked to by the Drudge Report, which describes the ad as “withering.”

The SBA List announced that it is running the ad in a $150,000 campaign across Missouri, where abortion has been much in the headlines due to Congressman Todd Akin’s controversial remarks.

“In light of the recent national discussion over abortion, it’s important Americans know the president’s best-kept secret: his extreme record on abortion,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.

In addition to his votes against BAIPA, the pro-life leader highlighted Obama’s opposition to bans on **noallow**-selection and late term abortions. “These actions fly in the face of mainstream American views and run counter to the president’s first term pre-election talk of finding common ground,” said Dannenfelser. “Recent polling reveals the majority of Americans support bans on these horrific practices.”

SBA List says that the ad is the first in a series highlighting President Obama’s extremist record on abortion. Additional ads are being considered for release in North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Artur Davis: The Best Speech of the Night
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | August 29, 2012 | Rush Limbaugh.com

RUSH: Four years ago, Artur Davis was the first congressman outside Illinois to endorse Obama. He delivered a nominating speech at the Democrat convention in Denver that nominated Barack Obama. Now, four years ago later, Artur Davis shows up at the Republican convention. Mia Love was great and Ann Romney was great, don't misunderstand. But I think this speech that Artur Davis delivered last night was just a home run. I only have three excerpts, three sound bites of it, but they are enough to get the point across.

Here's Artur Davis saying that Obama is a mistake that has to be fixed...

DAVIS: America is the land of second chances, and I gather you have room for the estimated six million of us who got it wrong in 2008 and who want to fix it.

CONVENTION: (applause)

DAVIS: Remember, my friends, the president saying of negative politics and untrue ads, "Not this time"? Who knew "not this time" just meant, "Not unless the economy is stuck and we can't run on our record"? ... Remember when the president said of his own election, "This is the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal"? Who knew the plain English version of it was, "Middle America, get ready to shell out 60 bucks to fill up your car."

RUSH: Artur Davis. Damn right you go after that! "This is the moment the rise of the oceans begins to slow, and the planet began to heal"? We don't need to heal the planet; we need to heal America! Here's the next sound bite from Artur Davis, where he looked straight in the camera and spoke directly to Democrats like him.

DAVIS: To those Democrats and independents whose minds are open to argument, listen closely to the Democratic Party that will gather in Charlotte and ask yourself if you hear your voice in the clamor. Ask yourself if these Democrats still speak for you! When they say, "We have a duty to grow government even when we cannot afford it," does it sound like compassion to you?

CONVENTION: No!

DAVIS: Or does it sound like recklessness? When you hear the party that glorified Occupy Wall Street blast success -- when you hear them minimize the genius of the men and women who make jobs out of nothing -- is that what you teach your children about work?

CONVENTION: No!

DAVIS: Do you even recognize the America they are talking about?

RUSH: That's a great question. Who can possibly relate to the America these people talk about? And here's the next bite where Artur Davis... It's not "Arthur," by the way. A lot of people think it's a misprint out there and that his name is "Arthur." It's not. It's "Artur." A lot of people think that there was a misprint on his birth certificate and so he was stuck with it, but no. That's his given name: Artur Davis.

(interruption)

Oh, that's right. Aw, damn it! Aw, gee. Oh, I blew it. Oh, no. I'm gonna get a demerit from the RNC over in Tampa. Oh no! (sigh) They'll send somebody out to rip me. I just said "birth certificate." Oh, well, I can't take it back. We've gone past the delay, so I can't delete it. Is it too late to delay it? It's too late to delay it. Aw, damn, I'm stuck with it. Well, okay, I'll take the heat. Artur Davis, the last sound bite we have...

DAVIS: My fellow Americans, when great athletes falter, their coaches sometimes whisper to them, "Remember who you are." It's a call to their greatness at a moment when their bodies and spirit are too sapped to remember their strength. This sweet, blessed, God-inspired place called America is a champion that has absorbed some blows. But we bend, we do not break!

CONVENTION: (applause)

DAVIS: This is no dark hour. This is the dawn before we remember who we are!

CONVENTION: (applause)

DAVIS: So may it be said of this time in our history, "2008 to 2011, lesson learned; 2012, mistake corrected."

RUSH: Artur Davis.

THOMAS SOWELL: OBAMA’S DREAMS

By Thomas Sowell September 3, 2012 In Daily Mailer,FrontPageComments

After reading Barack Obama’s book “Dreams from My Father,” it became painfully clear that he has not been searching for the truth, because he assumed from an early age that he had already found the truth — and now it was just a question of filling in the details and deciding how to change things.

Obama did not simply happen to encounter a lot of people on the far left fringe during his life. As he spells out in his book, he actively sought out such people. There is no hint of the slightest curiosity on his part about other visions of the world that might be weighed against the vision he had seized upon.

As Professor Richard Epstein of the University of Chicago Law School has pointed out, Obama made no effort to take part in the marketplace of ideas with other faculty members when he was teaching a law course there. What would be the point, if he already knew the truth and knew that they were wrong?

This would be a remarkable pposition to take, even for a learned scholar who had already spent decades canvassing a vast amount of information and views on many subjects. But Obama was already doctrinaire at a very early age — and ill-informed or misinformed on both history and economics.

His statement in “Dreams from My Father” about how white men went to Africa to “drag away the conquered in chains” betrays his ignorance of African history.

The era of the Atlantic slave trade and the era of European conquests across the continent of Africa were different eras. During the era of the Atlantic slave trade, most of Africa was ruled by Africans, who sold some of their slaves to white men.

European conquests in Africa had to wait until Europeans found some way to survive lethal African diseases, to which they lacked resistance. Only after medical science learned to deal with these diseases could the era of European conquests spread across sub-Saharan Africa. But the Atlantic slave trade was over by then.

There was no reason why Barack Obama had to know this. But there was also no reason for him to be shooting off his mouth without knowing what he was talking about.

Similarly with Obama’s characterization of the Nile as “the world’s greatest river.” The Nile is less than 10 percent longer than the Amazon, but the Amazon delivers more than 50 times as much water into the Atlantic as the Nile delivers into the Mediterranean.

The Nile could not accommodate the largest ships, even back in Roman times, much less the aircraft carriers of today that can sail up the Hudson River and dock in midtown Manhattan.

When Obama wrote that many people “had been enslaved only because of the color of their skin,” he was repeating a common piece of gross misinformation. For thousands of years, people enslaved other people of the same race as themselves, whether in Europe, Asia, Africa or the Western Hemisphere.

Europeans enslaved other Europeans for centuries before the first African was brought in bondage to the Western Hemisphere. The very word “slave” is derived from the name of a European people once widely held in bondage, the Slavs.

As for economics, Obama thought that Indonesians would be worse off after Europeans came in, used up their natural resources and then left them too poor to continue the modern way of life to which they had become accustomed, or to resume their previous way of life, after their previous skills had atrophied.

This fear of European “exploitation” prevailed widely in the Third World in the middle of the 20th century. But, by the late 20th century, the falseness of that view had been demonstrated so plainly and so often, in countries around the world, that even socialist and communist governments began opening their economies to foreign investments. This often led to rising economic growth rates that lifted millions of people out of poverty.

Barack Obama is one of those people who are often wrong but never in doubt. When he burst upon the national political scene as a presidential candidate in 2008, even some conservatives were impressed by his confidence.

But confident ignorance is one of the most dangerous qualities in a leader of a nation. If he has the rhetorical skills to inspire the same confidence in himself by others, then you have the ingredients for national disaster.

Taking Down the DNC "War on Women" Meme

By Katie Pavlich

9/5/2012

For months we've been hearing liberal Democrats scream about the so-called Republican "war on women." The opening night of the DNC convention in Charlotte Tuesday could have easily been confused with a pro-choice rally as speaker after speaker boasted about believing in a woman's right to choose. NARAL President Nancy Keenan even said having an abortion should be viewed as an act of dignity. But on top of promoting abortion at anytime, anywhere, for any reason in the name of women's health, the DNC played a video glorifying Senator Ted Kennedy.

For those not familiar, Kennedy has a long history of sexism and of course there was that little "incident" at Chappaquiddick when he drove Mary Jo Kopechne drunk off of a bridge, swam out and left her there to drown. He didn't report the incident for nine hours and when her body was finally found, investigators determined if Kennedy had called the police right away, she could have been rescued. Why? She found a small pocket of air while trapped inside the car. Instead of drowning as Kennedy thought she would, she suffocated to death.

Last night on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, I pointed out the hypocrisy of Democrats, specifically at the DNC, glorifying someone like Ted Kennedy while claiming the GOP is responsibile for waging a "war on women." Long time Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen (who was in the spotlight earlier this year for attacking Ann Romney and stay at home moms) quickly cut me off and Piers Morgan called my comment "below the belt."

You know what's really below the belt? Leaving a woman to die in your car, covering it up and then claiming to be pro-woman. Even if Democrats like Rosen want to forget about Mary Jo Kopechne in defense of Kennedy others will not and as you might expect, many on the left responded to my factual comment about Kennedy with tolerance and civil discussion, Twitchy has the documentation.

Former President Bill Clinton, who also has a long history of sexual harrassment against women, including young interns in the Oval Office, will speak tonight at the "pro-women" DNC.

Cheney: Cairo, Benghazi and Obama Foreign Policy

In too many parts of the world, America is no longer viewed as a reliable ally or an enemy to be feared. .

WSJ 9/12/2012

By Liz Cheney

It has certainly been a terrible 48 hours. In Libya, violent extremists killed American diplomats. In Cairo, mobs breached the walls of the U.S. Embassy, ripped down the American flag and replaced it with the al Qaeda flag.

In response to the attack in Cairo, diplomats there condemned not the attackers but those who “hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” The president appeared in the Rose Garden less than 24 hours later to condemn the Libya assault and failed even to mention the attack in Egypt. The message sent to radicals throughout the region: If you assault an American embassy but don’t kill anyone, the U.S. president won’t complain.

Though the administration’s performance in the crisis was appalling, it wasn’t surprising—it is the logical outcome of three-and-a-half years of Obama foreign policy.

In March 2009, at an Americas summit meeting in Mexico City, President Obama listened as Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega delivered a venomous diatribe against America. Mr. Obama stood to speak and accepted Mr. Ortega’s version of history. “I’m very grateful,” Mr. Obama said, “that President Ortega didn’t blame me for things that happened when I was three months old.”

In April 2009, in France, Mr. Obama proclaimed that America must make deep cuts in its nuclear arsenal because only then would the country have “the moral authority to say to Iran, don’t develop a nuclear weapon, to say to North Korea, don’t proliferate nuclear weapons.” Embracing the leftist fallacy that the key to world peace is for the U.S. to pre-emptively disarm, the president has reportedly begun reviewing options to take our nuclear stockpile to levels not seen since 1950. These are steps you take only if you believe that America—not her enemies—is the threat.

In June 2009, Mr. Obama went to Cairo and said, “The fear and anger” after 9/11 “led us to act contrary to our ideals.” But the men and women who led this nation then, and the military and intelligence professionals who interrogated Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and others, did not act contrary to our ideals. They kept this nation safe.

Reuters Protesters destroy an American flag pulled down from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Sept. 11. . Mr. Obama didn’t thank them. He slandered them on foreign soil, and he revealed to al Qaeda the techniques we used to interrogate terrorists—techniques that generated intelligence that saved lives and prevented further attacks on the nation. And he failed to put any alternative interrogation program in place. When Nigerian terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (the “underwear bomber”) was captured on Mr. Obama’s watch, he was read the Miranda rights.

The president wrapped up his 2009 world tour with a speech at the United Nations, where he explained: “No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed.” He has worked hard these past three years to ensure that the U.S. is not “elevated” above others, and he has succeeded.

In too many parts of the world, America is no longer viewed as a reliable ally or an enemy to be feared. Don’t take my word for it. Ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Even as his country faces an existential threat from Iran, he can’t get a meeting with President Obama. Ask the Poles and Czechs, two allies we abandoned when we canceled missile-defense systems that the president feared would offend the Russians. Ask the Iranian people who took to the streets to fight for their freedom, only to find Mr. Obama standing silently with the mullahs.

Nor do our adversaries any longer fear us. Ask the mobs in Cairo who attacked our embassy, or the Libyan mobs who killed our diplomats at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Ask the Iranians, who make unhindered daily progress toward obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The Obama administration has been unable or unwilling to stop the Iranians. The one apparently successful cyberwarfare effort against Iran was leaked to the New York Times—leaked, according to the Times journalist, by “members of the president’s national security team who were in the room” for the key deliberations. Did members of the president’s inner circle really walk out of the White House situation room and brief a journalist on one of our most highly classified programs? No one has been held to account, and the American people still don’t know if Mr. Obama approved this leak.

If you really want to know whether our adversaries fear us, ask the Russians, whose thuggish President Putin essentially endorsed Mr. Obama recently. Perhaps Mr. Putin is banking on the missile defense “flexibility” Mr. Obama promised he would have after the election.

The president says he “ended the war in Iraq” and is “ending the war in Afghanistan.” If only wishing made it so. A better description of what Mr. Obama is doing in Iraq and Afghanistan is rushing for the exits. On his watch, we walked away from years of battle and sacrifice in Iraq, leaving no stay-behind force and an Iraq mired in violence under the heavy influence of Iran. In Afghanistan, the president gave hope to our enemies by announcing a date certain for withdrawal. He has ignored many of the most important recommendations of his commanders on the ground. He is so busy retreating that we are likely to leave in a our wake a failed state where the Taliban and terrorist organizations like al Qaeda can once again operate.

While the threats to America grow, the president prepares to make devastating cuts to America’s military. Cuts that would be “a disaster,” in the words of the president’s own secretary of defense. The president has said he would veto any attempt to stop these cuts.

Apologizing for America, appeasing our enemies, abandoning our allies and slashing our military are the hallmarks of Mr. Obama’s foreign policy. The Obama economy, with its high unemployment, massive debt and out-of-control spending, has rightly demanded our attention. As we head to the polls in November, we cannot ignore what is an even more dismal national-security record. An America already weakened by four years of an Obama presidency will be unrecognizable after eight.
