As she sealed the jaws of the gator, it started going into a death roll leading to a 15-minute struggle to get it under control. Officials with the Florida Wildlife agency said that because the alligator was more than seven feet in length it was destroyed.
Mr Strocchio told 10 News TV in Tampa that since moving to the Easton Park neighborhood he is used to see alligators in the waterways. But he said it was the first time one of reptiles had ventured into the street. There are an estimated 1.3million alligators in Florida with more than 350 attacks on humans from 1948- 2005, according to official records.
