A woman yesterday had a restraining order upheld against the son of the governor of Utah, who has apparently been stalking her for eight years. Nathan Herbert, 42, was banned from going within 50ft of 28-year-old Aiona Butters - sister of his ex-girlfriend - after she testified that he had circled her in his car and touched himself while staring at her working out in the gym. 'It just feels like he's raping me with his eyes,' she told the court when the injunction was originally granted two years agoHerbert is the son of Gary Herbert, a Republican who was appointed governor of Utah after the resignation of Jon Huntsman in 2009, and was elected to his own full term earlier this month. He first met Ms Butters in 2004, when he was dating her sister - but she says she has never talked to him despite their numerous run-insMs Butters said Herbert would drive around her car in circles and follow her when she was running errands. Most disturbingly, she claimed he had followed her into the gym and was seen by other fondling himself while he stared at her exercising. A three-year restraining order was granted, but Herbert's mother Jeanette said at the time that she and her husband, the governor, 'do not think the judge did his job'. And earlier this year the defendant launched an appeal against the injunction, as he argued that Ms Butters was a 'drama queen' suffering from 'extreme paranoia'. But her lawyer claimed it was only the ruling which had prevented Ms Butters from being in serious danger, saying: 'This is like a TV movie. 'She got the restraining order - who knows where this escalation would have ended?
