An alligator attempting to slither through a Florida storm drain got stuck and had to be freed by rescue workers. A concerned resident of Seminole, Florida called the Pinellas County Sheriff's office on Friday after spotting a gator in a residential roadside drain. The caller saw the gator sticking out into the street, three blocks from an elementary school. The police arrived to find the 8-foot alligator had slipped entirely down into the sewer. A trapper from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission was then brought to the scene to help free the animal. The wildlife expert taped the reptile's jaws shut to avoid any gashes from the its formidable teeth. Helped by a some nearby civilians and what appears in photos to be a large container of vegetable oil, the experts eased the alligator out from beneath the street.
