Unbelievable: Jon Corzine still bundling mega-bucks  for  Obama’s campaign

Hotair ^

The information's hiding in plain sight but it’s still a  nifty  catch by the Standard’s Daniel Halper. You know why? Because the  idea  that Jon Corzine is still raising hundreds of thousands of dollars  for The One  is so insane and implausible, virtually no one would have  thought to check. Of coursethat's not happening. Of course. And yet.

He's in the $500,000+ club for the first quarter of this  year,  the most elite group there is among O's cash cows. You know what  else happened  during that quarter? News broke that more than a billion  dollars in MF Global  client funds had apparently been "vaporized" in  the firm’s collapse, with investigators  clueless as to where the money  might have gone. As recently as last month,  new  evidence emerged pointing to Corzine's direct  involvement  in using clients’ cash to cover  the firm’s  debts. And yet, presumably, he was squeezing his rich friends  for  dough for Obama the whole time. Ace asks a good question: “Why is  a man under  investigation by a government agency permitted to raise money  for the man who  controls that agency?” Wouldn’t be the first time  Corzine’s used his political leverage to personal advantage.

If you missed it a few days ago, read Ed’s post on  Patrick  Kennedy claiming that the White House rewardas its rich donors with certain quid pro quos. Can’t wait to see what Jon Corzine gets in return for his extreme   diligence on behalf of the "not a Republican" reelection effort. Exit question:  Does Team O understand that transparency is supposed to act as a deterrent  to  impropriety or the appearance of impropriety? They love to pat  themselves on the  back for voluntarily disclosing the names of their  bundlers, but the point of  disclosure is that it dissuades you, at least  in theory, from dealing with  cretins lest you be scrutinized for it.  Where’s the dissuasion, guys?

LA MADRE DE TODOS LOS  DEFALCOS,  CORZINE DONA MILLONES A OBAMA MIENTRAS DEFRAUDA ¡$1,800 MILLONES  A SUS  CLIENTES!!!

OBAMA/ CORZINE, UNA MANO LAVA  LA  OTRA...

LA MAFIA DEMOCRATA EN PLENA   ACCION

Al Franken - U.S. Senator, Minnesota

Dear Ricardo,

Remember that time a bunch of male politicians decided that women’s employers should be able to deny them access to birth control for pretty much any reason?

It sounds like something out of the 1950s, but as you know, it happened earlier this year. Fortunately, you and I fought back and defended a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions without her boss getting involved.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that some in Washington still haven’t looked at a calendar and realized that their agenda is about a half century out of date.

It’s incredible to think that, in a year that starts with a “2,” women’s rights remain under broad and sustained attack from right-wing politicians. But look around. They’re trying to undermine millions of women who rely on Planned Parenthood for basic care. They’re trying to repeal health care reform and bring back gender discrimination in insurance. And no matter how often -- or how clearly -- we explain to them how birth control works and why it’s important to so many women, these guys never seem to get the message.

So we have to stay ready and keep fighting. That feeling we all got when we saw that panel of men telling women what health care they should and shouldn’t be able to get? We’re going to get that feeling again, because the same radical politicians who brought us that debacle are cooking up the next one as we speak.

I’m glad to have you on my team as I fight back. And I hope you’ll be ready for the next time we have to win a battle on behalf of women’s rights.

Thanks,

Al

¿Cómo calificarías la gestión de Obama " BIG F

53% of New Graduates are Jobless or Underemployed

Townhall.com ^ | April 26, 2012 | Mike Shedlock

The USA Today reports graduating class of 2012 is in for a rude awakening as Half of new graduates are jobless or underemployed.

A weak labor market already has left half of young college graduates either jobless or underemployed in positions that don't fully use their skills and knowledge. Young adults with bachelor's degrees are increasingly scraping by in lower-wage jobs — waiter or waitress, bartender, retail clerk or receptionist, for example — and that's confounding their hopes a degree would pay off despite higher tuition and mounting student loans. Median wages for those with bachelor's degrees are down from 2000, hit by technological changes that are eliminating midlevel jobs such as bank tellers. Most future job openings are projected to be in lower-skilled positions such as home health aides, who can provide personalized attention as the U.S. population ages. Taking underemployment into consideration, the job prospects for bachelor's degree holders fell last year to the lowest level in more than a decade. "I don't even know what I'm looking for," says Michael Bledsoe, who described months of fruitless job searches as he served customers at a Seattle coffeehouse. The 23-year-old graduated in 2010 with a creative writing degree. About 1.5 million, or 53.6%, of bachelor's degree-holders under the age of 25 last year were jobless or underemployed, the highest share in at least 11 years. In 2000, the share was at a low of 41%, before the dot-com bust erased job gains for college graduates in the telecommunications and IT fields. Out of the 1.5 million who languished in the job market, about half were underemployed, an increase from the previous year. Broken down by occupation, young college graduates were heavily represented in jobs that require a high school diploma or less. In the last year, they were more likely to be employed as waiters, waitresses, bartenders and food-service helpers than as engineers, physicists, chemists and mathematicians combined (100,000 versus 90,000). There were more working in office-related jobs such as receptionist or payroll clerk than in all computer professional jobs (163,000 versus 100,000). More also were employed as cashiers, retail clerks and customer representatives than engineers (125,000 versus 80,000). According to government projections released last month, only three of the 30 occupations with the largest projected number of job openings by 2020 will require a bachelor's degree or higher to fill the **noallow** — teachers, college professors and accountants. Most job openings are in professions such as retail sales, fast food and truck driving, jobs which aren't easily replaced by computers.Useless Degrees The USA Today talks about the "underemployed". Is that really what's going on? Just what job does someone majoring in Political Science, English, History, Social Studies, Creative Writing, Art, etc., etc., etc., expect to get? Arguably, graduates in those majors (and many more) should be thankful to get any job. Therefore, those who do land a job should therefore be considered fully employed, not underemployed. In turn, this means a college education now has a negative payback for most degrees.

Bledsoe, currently making just above minimum wage, says he has received financial help from his parents to help pay off student loans. Who Benefits From Student Aid?  Students get no benefit from "student aid". Rather, teachers, administrators, and corrupt for-profit schools like the University of Phoenix do. Obama wants to throw more money at education, and that is exactly the wrong thing to do. Instead, I propose stopping student aid programs and accrediting more online schools to lower the cost of education so that degrees do not have negative payback.    Sadly, there is a trillion dollar student loan bubble, and that debt overhang will negatively impact the economy for years to come. Let's not make the problem worse. It's time to kill the inappropriately named "student aid" program.

Michelle Obama’s Spain Vacation Cost Taxpayers $467,585

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and fights government corruption, announced today that it obtained documents from the United States Air Force and the United States Secret Service detailing costs associated with Michelle Obama’s controversial August 2010 vacation to Spain. According to a Judicial Watch analysis, the records indicate a total combined cost of at least $467,585.

Judicial Watch obtained the Secret Service records pursuant to an August 2010 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. (The agency notified Judicial Watch that it withheld 78 pages of responsive records in their entirety.) Judicial Watch obtained the U.S. Air Force records pursuant to a March 5, 2012, FOIA lawsuit.

The following are highlights from the U.S. Air Force records, which indicate a total cost of $213,124.15:

According to U.S. Department of Defense’s 2010 published hourly rates, the total cost of flying Michelle Obama and her guests from Camp Andrews to Malaga and then to Mallorca and back to the United States was $199,323.75. This is based on approximately 17 hours and 15 minutes of total flying time. The 15-member flight crew stayed at Tryp Guadalmar, a nearby motel. Lodging cost was $10,290.60 and car rental cost was $2,633.50. Food cost was $876.30, including $57.68 for four bottles of maple syrup and a package of pancake mix.

The U.S. Air Force concealed the number of civilian passengers who accompanied Mrs. Obama on the five-day trip, citing an exemption to FOIA law. (The New York Times previously reported that Mrs. Obama brought along one of her daughters and “two friends and four of their daughters, as well as a couple of aides and a couple of advance staff members.”)

Secret Service records, meanwhile, show that the costs to the agency for the vacation were $254,461.20. This total includes $26,670.61 for a chauffeur tour of Costa del Sol and $50,078.78 for a travel planning company SET P&V, S.L. (George Soros is 50% owner of the travel company.) Taxpayers also paid the bill for separate lodging for a dog and its handler.

As I noted earlier this week, from Jodi Kantor’s The Obamas, pages 90–91:

Even the president made uncomfortable jokes about why his wife needed so many things. Behind the scenes, aides said, the Obamas were concerned about money: the president’s books could only sell so many copies, and it would be years until he could write more and the first lady could write her own. From vacation rental homes big enough to accommodate the Secret Service to all the personal entertaining they did at the White House, their lifestyle had grown fearsomely expensive.

Re: ¿Cómo calificarías la gestión de Barack Obama en el últi

We had been attempting to highlight the inability of Congress to do anything,” recalled William M. Daley, who was the White House chief of staff at the time. “The president expressed frustration, saying we have got to scour everything and push the envelope in finding things we can do on our own.”

For Mr. Obama, that meeting was a turning point. As a senator and presidential candidate, he had criticized George W. Bush for flouting the role of Congress. And during his first two years in the White House, when Democrats controlled Congress, Mr. Obama largely worked through the legislative process to achieve his domestic policy goals.

But increasingly in recent months, the administration has been seeking ways to act without Congress. Branding its unilateral efforts “We Can’t Wait,” a slogan that aides said Mr. Obama coined at that strategy meeting, the White House has rolled out dozens of new policies — on creating jobs for veterans, preventing drug shortages, raising fuel economy standards, curbing domestic violence and more.

Each time, Mr. Obama has emphasized the fact that he is bypassing lawmakers. When he announced a cut in refinancing fees for federally insured mortgages last month, for example, he said: “If Congress refuses to act, I’ve said that I’ll continue to do everything in my power to act without them.”

Aides say many more such moves are coming. Not just a short-term shift in governing **noallow** and a re-election strategy, Mr. Obama’s increasingly assertive use of executive action could foreshadow pitched battles over the separation of powers in his second term, should he win and Republicans consolidate their power in Congress.

Many conservatives have denounced Mr. Obama’s new approach. But William G. Howell, a University of Chicago political science professor and author of “Power Without Persuasion: The Politics of Direct Presidential Action,” said Mr. Obama’s use of executive power to advance domestic policies that could not pass Congress was not new historically. Still, he said, because of Mr. Obama’s past as a critic of executive unilateralism, his transformation is remarkable.

Re: ¿Cómo calificarías la gestión de Barack Obama en el últi

Obama parties, campaigns all the time on taxpayer’s dime

27 April 2012

By: Administrator

The President certainly enjoys the perks of his pposition in the White House. From extravagant vacations to approximately 100 rounds of golf, it has been a pretty enjoyable tenure for Mr. Obama. He has been able to meet celebrities, travel the world and play his favorite games.

While our nation’s problems are not his primary concern, the President sure acts interested when giving speeches in battleground states. Most of these speeches are political and not official business, but the President continues to charge the travel expenses to the American people.

The President’s plane, Air Force One, costs an astounding $179,750 per hour to operate, according to the Pentagon. The plane, along with security, lodging, meals and ground transportation are some of the many expenses involved in any presidential trip. With a huge budget deficit and tremendous economic problems, taxpayer funds should not be wasted on presidential fundraising and campaign junkets.

Since the beginning of his re-election campaign in April of 2011, the President has held 124 fundraisers, more than double the number held by George W. Bush during his entire 2004 re-election campaign. Quite often, the President will combine the political trips with some sort of “official” business so the taxpayers will have to pay the costs.

Earlier in the week, President Obama visited with college students, took pictures at a bar with a shocked young woman and appeared on a late night talk show. Obviously, it was all great fun, quite a contrast to the anxiety most Americans feel dealing with this awful Obama economy.

The latest political excursion was not official business, but more campaigning, which is the activity that President Obama enjoys the most. He hates governing and leading and prefers speaking to adoring audiences, shaking hands and kissing babies.

With polls tight and the economy in the doldrums, Obama will be on the campaign trail non-stop through November. The costs for all of these political activities should not be billed to the taxpayers of this country.

In fact, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) believes that the President’s re-election campaign should pay for his recent political trip. He demanded that the President “reimburse the Treasury” for the costs of the questionable visit to the three battleground states of Iowa, North Carolina and Colorado.

Boehner is not the only person who has noticed this obvious taxpayer abuse. This week, the Republican National Committee (RNC) filed an official complaint with the Government Accountability Office (GAO).

In his latest swing, the President was supposedly focusing on the issue of student loans, which gave him an excuse to visit college campuses in three crucial states that the President needs to win in the fall election. This taxpayer abuse is nothing new. Just recently, the President traveled to Florida and gave an “official speech” after a day of campaigning, thus charging it to the taxpayers.

According to Boehner, “For the president to make a campaign issue out of this (student loans) and then to travel to three battleground states and go to three large college campuses on taxpayers’ money to try to make this a political issue is pathetic.”

The real problem is the horrible economy which is preventing college students from landing a job after they graduate. If graduates find work and do not have to live with their parents, they are more likely to reduce or fully retire their student loans.

The best way for President Obama to solve the student loan crisis is to change his disastrous fiscal policies so our economy can rebound. Unfortunately, he is committed to his big government agenda and to campaigning on the taxpayer’s dime, which are more reasons why Americans need to make a change on November 6, 2012.
