Why is Michelle Obama so tired?
Exclusive: Mychal Massie says fist lady 'doesn't give a rat's tail' about her behavior
5/14/2012
Mychal Massie is chairman of the National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives-Project 21 – a conservative black think tank located in Washington, D.C. He was recognized as the 2008 Conservative Man of the Year by the Conservative Party of Suffolk County, N.Y. He is a nationally recognized political activist, pundit and columnist. He has appeared on Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, C-SPAN, NBC, Comcast Cable and talk-radio programming nationwide.
What on earth can Michelle Obama possibly be tired from?
What has she done since her husband was elected that gives her one reason to be tired? I know that flying, for the proletariat such as myself, can be tiring and, more times than not, a genuine pain – but she flies in presidential luxury, sans the president. And the only checkin’ in and full-body scan she goes through at an airport is when she looks at herself in a mirror. We, the taxpayers of this great nation, demand to know just what it is that has her royalness so worn out and tired, that after just enjoying a lavish 17-day Hawaiian Christmas vacation (that cost taxpayers $4 million), she needs another vacation at one of the most exclusive (and anti-union) resorts in the country.
It cannot be that she is overworked because, if the liberal Los Angeles Times is to be believed, between them, the Obamas have 454 White House aides, at a cost to the taxpayers of more than $37 million annually – and that doesn’t include recent pay raises. (See: “No Recession For Obama’s 454 White House aides: They’ll make $37,121,463 this year”; Andrew Malcolm, July 5, 2011.) And before you ask – yes, that is more than President and Mrs. Bush had, and I was one of the lone voices decrying the size and cost of Laura Bush’s staff.
Could Ms. Obama still be suffering fatigue from the weight of having kept secret, for two years, her extravagant Halloween costume ball? Even though they used military families as a cover in case it got out, the last thing she wanted the public to know was that, while Americans were suffering in the depths of recession, she had the biggest players in Hollywood doing an exclusive costume party just for herself and her family.
Or perhaps it’s the lingering effects of taking her mother and daughters to South Africa and Botswana, or the sheer exhaustion of rushing out of Washington, four hours ahead of her husband, so she wouldn’t have to share her presidential jet with him on the way to Martha’s Vineyard for their annual beach break.
Then again, maybe she was exhausted from her personal $50,000 underwear shopping spree with the queen of Qatar, at Agent Provocateur, the store that bills itself as selling “the most erotic lingerie in the world.” Realizing that you’re responsible for closing down Madison Avenue can be tiring, and watching staff carry all those bags back to her limousines … whew! – that would sure wear me out. And after the tiring experience of picking out all of those exotic undies, what better place to recover than an uber-posh Vail resort and the private home owned by Paula and Jim Crown?
Or maybe she’s worn out from rolling around on the floor to the delight of Ellen Degeneres, or making muscles on a daytime show, or pulling on a rope on another show, or eating at all of the restaurants where she loves to pig it up.
Then again, maybe Ms. Obama is just an arrogant, high-minded person who doesn’t give a rat’s tail about propriety or how her behavior looks to a suffering public because, after all, her husband claims the economy is improving, and who are we going to believe – the reality of our financial situation or her husband?
Michelle Obama can afford to live life large since every dime she’s spending comes on the backs and sweat of others. Nothing, zip, nada that she spends did she personally earn. And therein is the disgusting elitism of a woman who forgets where she came from, and dares you to remind her.
We are responsible for the billionaire life she lives, and it’s time we started demanding that she be accountable to us. It’s time we started confronting Obama at every press conference and/or speaking venue about the behavior of his wife. He is spending hundreds of millions of our money, flying around the country to raise a billion dollars for his campaign war chest, and we’re paying $4 per gallon for fuel. We’ve lost our homes, our mortgages are upside-down, our property taxes aren’t enough to cover the increasing cost of infrastructure because of the drain of resources by illegal aliens, and all of this is happening as the price of putting milk and cereal on our tables is rising dramatically.
But why shouldn’t she be smiling? For the first time in her adult life, she is proud of America – and why not? She has tens of millions of peons paying for her very own private reparations – now that’s enough to put a smile on any elitist’s face.

A Rough Sunday for Team Obama
By Guy Benson 5/21/2012
The Sunday morning network chat shows typically distill and explore the major political themes of the week, with Republicans and Democrats grappling for narrative control. This week's programs were no exception, and suffice it to say that the Obama campaign didn't have a very productive weekend. Three of its surrogates strayed off message, handing the GOP a series of golden talking points:
(1) Former top economic adviser Austin Goolsbee admitted what we've known for some time: President Obama is the "undisputed Debt King." Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace laid down the facts, and Goolsbee could do nothing but stare the truth in its face:
Wallace: "The fact is, Mr. Goolsbee, that under this president, the debt has increased by five trillion dollars, or almost 50 percent."
Goolsbee: "Look, I don't dispute that the deficit has increased."
In an emailed statement to the media, the Romney campaign chuckled that "its nice to see that the president's campaign isn't disputing the facts, for once." It's a backhanded compliment, of course, but I'm not sure how much credit Goolsbee really deserves. Acknowledging empirical math shouldn't be a laudatory act; it should be common practice. Barack Obama has presided over an unprecedented (some might say "unpatriotic") bloating of the national debt and has institutionalized trillion-dollar-plus deficits, rupturing his early pledge to halve the annual deficit by now. This reckless record of spending -- accompanied with unforgivable inaction on long term debt solutions -- is one of Mitt Romney's top indictments of the president. Goolsbee's frank admission thus affirms a primary Republican election year message.
(2) In the wake of the Rev. Wright flap, David Axelrod was pressed on CNN to confirm that Gov. Romney's faith will be out of bounds throughout the coming campaign:
As religion becomes an ever-more significant issue on the campaign trail, Mitt Romney's Mormonism will be off-limits as a subject for the opposition, Obama campaign advisor David Axelrod said on Sunday. "We've said that's not fair game," he said on CNN's State of the Union. When asked whether the campaign "repudiate[s] the idea that Mormonism should be on the table" this election season, Axelrod insisted: "absolutely." He added, however, that Romney should to come out stronger against attacks on Obama's former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Some Obama allies haven't gotten this message -- two elected Democrats have made inflammatory statements about polygamy in recent weeks. And as for Axelrod's gripe about Romney's reaction to the Wright reports, I'm not sure what else he could have done to satisfy Axe's repudiation thirst. He came out and thoroughly rejected the hypothetical Wright attacks within hours, to the chagrin of some conservatives. I guess he has to keep the gravy train chugging along somehow, right?
(3) Finally, Democratic Newark Mayor Cory Booker -- last seen participating in an Abbott and Costello routine with Chris Christie -- appeared on Meet the Press and totally cut the legs out from under Team Obama's Bain Capital demagoguery:
"If you look at the totality of Bain Capital's record, they've done a lot to support businesses to grow businesses, and this [Obama strategy] to me...I'm very uncomfortable with it."
In condemning The One's Bain strategy as "nauseating," Booker also made the point that public pension funds invest with companies like Bain to help **noallow** strong retirement funds, dealing another blow to the silly notion that only Romney and his top deputies benefited from robust investment returns. Recapping: Conceding Republican's valid criticisms on deficits and debt, taking Mormonism off the table, and praising Bain Capital's strong investment record. What does that leave for Democrats to run on? Perhaps the Washington Post should start digging into how Romney treated his pet goldfish in middle school.
UPDATE - Booker is back-tracking on his Bain defense, almost certainly at the behest of Team O:
People are describing that has a "hostage video." Yeah, pretty close. The RNC is circulating a "Stand with Cory" petition, just to rub it in. Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal asks the trenchant question in all of this: If Bain just devoured and destroyed companies, why are people still lining up to do business with them decades later? Answer: Because the point of their business model is to save and grow businesses -- and they're damn good at it.

Obama's Five Trillion Dollar Lie
Economic Collapse ^ | May 25, 2012 | Staff
Why isn’t the U.S. economy in a depression right now? The number one reason is because the federal government has stolen more than five trillion dollars from future generations since Barack Obama was elected and has used that money to pump up our grossly inflated standard of living. Whether the federal government spends money wisely or foolishly, the truth is that the vast majority of it still ends up in the pockets of the American people who then use it to buy the things they need for their daily lives. If the U.S. government had not borrowed and spent an extra five trillion dollars that we did not have over the past several years, we would be in the middle of a rip-roaring economic depression right now. So any talk that Barack Obama is “improving the economy” is a total farce. It is a five trillion dollar lie. The reality is that Barack Obama and the U.S. Congress have been stealing trillions of dollars from future generations in order to make things tolerable in the present. If the federal government adopted a balanced budget next year, the debt-fueled prosperity that we are currently enjoying would start disappearing very rapidly and all hell would break loose in America.
At this point, the U.S. national debt is over 15.7 trillion dollars.
When Ronald Reagan took office it was less than a trillion dollars.
If you were to divide the national debt up equally, it would come to more than $50,000 for every man, woman and child in the United States.
So the share of the national debt for an average family of four would be about $200,000.
When the government borrows and spends money that it does not have, that increases the amount of dollars in circulation and it causes GDP to go up.
That is one of the reasons why our politicians like to borrow and spend money that we do not have. It makes the economic statistics look good. They can point to those economic statistics as a reason to send them back for another term.
This is a major flaw in our system. Most of our politicians do not care about how they are raping future generations financially. Most of them just care about getting elected again.
If you will notice carefully, neither Mitt Romney nor Barack Obama are promising to balance the budget any time soon. Like so many politicians in the past, they promise to do it “eventually”, but “eventually” never arrives.
According to a recent article in the Washington Times, Mitt Romney declared during a recent campaign appearance that he has no plans to balance the federal budget in his first year....
“My job is to get America back on track to have a balanced budget. Now I’m not going to cut $1 trillion in the first year” Why would he say that?
Why wouldn’t he want to balance the budget?
He went on to explain that....
“The reason,” he explained, “is taking a trillion dollars out of a $15 trillion economy would cause our economy to shrink [and] would put a lot of people out of work.” Romney is right about this. Taking a trillion dollars out of a 15 trillion dollar economy would plunge us into an economic nightmare.
And that would make him look bad.
Of course if Obama wins the election we can just expect more of the same from him as well.
For example, just check out what White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew had to say about balancing the budget recently....
“The time for austerity is not today,” Lew told NBC News “Meet the Press.” “If we were to put in austerity measures right now, it would take the economy in the wrong way.” Why is the time for austerity not today?
It is because the 2012 election is coming up and Obama wants the economic statistics to look good.
But can you blame our politicians for being cowardly?
Just look at what is happening in Greece. After several years of austerity they are in the midst of a full-blown economic depression and they still have not balanced their budget.
Do we want to end up like Greece?
Most Americans do not realize this, but the U.S. already has more government debt per capita than Greece, Portugal, Italy, Ireland or Spain.
So why haven’t we collapsed yet?
Well, because we continue to borrow larger and larger amounts of money.
It took from the founding of America until 1995 for the federal government to accumulate 5 trillion dollars of debt.
Under Obama, we have accumulated more than 5 trillion dollars of new debt in just over 3 years.
Amazingly, Obama has added more to the national debt than George W. Bush did during his entire 8 year term.
And let there be no mistake - George W. Bush was a wild spender. A fiscal conservative he most certainly was not.
But Barack Obama does not seem troubled by any of this.
Barack Obama is prancing about the countryside touting his great “economic plan”, but the truth is that the only reason the economy has not totally collapsed is because he is stealing 150 million dollars an hour from our children and our grandchildren.
Sadly, most Americans don’t understand that the current level of prosperity that we are enjoying is a grand illusion. Most Americans still expect things to return to the way that they used to be, and they are increasingly becoming angry that it is taking so long to get back there.
In fact, a whole host of recent surveys have shown that Americans are very dissatisfied with the direction the economy is heading in....
Four recent surveys have found that on average only 28% of Americans are satisfied with the condition of the country, while 70% are dissatisfied. Three recent surveys have found that between 69% and 83% of Americans believe that the country is still in recession (it isn’t), and only half believe that a recovery is under way. What they don’t realize is that if we were not massively ripping off our kids and our grandkids things would be much, much worse.
Thomas Jefferson understood that government borrowing is essentially the same as theft from future generations.
He once made the following statement....
And I sincerely believe, with you, that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale. What we are doing to our children and our grandchildren is so immoral that it is hard to put into words.
We are running up trillions upon trillions of dollars of debt in their name just so that our lives can be more comfortable right now.
How could we be so selfish?
The sad thing is that even with all of this reckless spending our economy is still not in great shape.
In fact, the middle class continues to shrink at an alarming rate. The following are just a few statistics from a recent article I did about this phenomenon....
-Today, approximately 48 percent of all Americans are currently either considered to be “low income” or are living in poverty.
-Back in 1960, social welfare benefits made up approximately 10 percent of all salaries and wages. In the year 2000, social welfare benefits made up approximately 21 percent of all salaries and wages. Today, social welfare benefits make up approximately 35 percent of all salaries and wages.
-The United States actually has a higher percentage of workers doing low wage work than any other major industrialized nation does.
-Every year now, we see millions of Americans fall out of the middle class. In 2010, 2.6 million more Americans descended into poverty. That was the largest increase that we have seen since the U.S. government began keeping statistics on this back in 1959.
-At this point, approximately 22 percent of all American children are living in poverty.
-When Barack Obama took office, there were 32 million Americans on food stamps. Now, there are more than 46 million Americans on food stamps.
So how much worse would things be if a trillion dollars of federal spending was suddenly removed from the economy?
Are you starting to get the picture?
As bad as things are right now, they are about to get a whole lot worse.
So why can’t we just keep on borrowing and spending forever?
Well, just like Greece found out, debt always catches up with you eventually.
During fiscal 2011, the U.S. government spent over 454 billion dollars just on interest on the national debt.
But just like we are seeing in Europe, if confidence in U.S. government debt starts to disappear the U.S. government could end up facing much higher interest rates to borrow money.
If the average rate on U.S. government debt only rose to 7 percent (in the past it has actually been much higher than that), then the U.S. government would be spending about 1.1 trillion dollars a year just on interest on the national debt.
During fiscal year 2011, the U.S. government spent 3.7 trillion dollars but it only brought in about 2.4 trillion dollars.
So if we were spending 1.1 trillion dollars just on interest, that would be close to half of all the revenue the federal government brings in.
Right now, the Federal Reserve is manipulating the system in a desperate attempt to keep interest rates down. During 2011, the Federal Reserve bought up approximately 61 percent of all government debt issued by the U.S. Treasury Department.
But most Americans have no idea how fragile our financial system is.
Most Americans just assume that we will always be the greatest economy on the planet and that there is nothing to be worried about.
Sadly, one way or another this debt bubble is going to burst and then our debt-fueled false prosperity is going to disappear.
Most Americans are not going to understand what is happening and they are going to go absolutely nuts.

ARTUR DAVIS : A once proud Democrat becomes a Republican.
'Democratic Label No Longer Matches What I Know About My Country'
Michael Warren
While I’ve gone to great lengths to keep this website a forum for ideas, and not a personal forum, I should say something about the various stories regarding my political future in Virginia, the state that has been my primary home since late December 2010. The short of it is this: I don’t know and am nowhere near deciding. If I were to run, it would be as a Republican. And I am in the process of changing my voter registration from Alabama to Virginia, a development which likely does represent a closing of one chapter and perhaps the opening of another….
On the specifics, I have regularly criticized an agenda that would punish businesses and job creators with more taxes just as they are trying to thrive again. I have taken issue with an administration that has lapsed into a bloc by bloc appeal to group grievances when the country is already too fractured: frankly, the symbolism of Barack Obama winning has not given us the substance of a united country. You have also seen me write that faith institutions should not be compelled to violate their teachings because faith is a freedom, too. You’ve read that in my view, the law can’t continue to favor one race over another in offering hard-earned slots in colleges: America has changed, and we are now diverse enough that we don’t need to accommodate a racial spoils system. And you know from these pages that I still think the way we have gone about mending the flaws in our healthcare system is the wrong way—it goes further than we need and costs more than we can bear.
Taken together, these are hardly the enthusiasms of a Democrat circa 2012, and they wouldn’t be defensible in a Democratic primary. But they are the thoughts and values of ten years of learning, and seeing things I once thought were true fall into disarray. So, if I were to leave the sidelines, it would be as a member of the Republican Party that is fighting the drift in this country in a way that comes closest to my way of thinking: wearing a Democratic label no longer matches what I know about my country and its possibilities.
Davis’s political evolution may not be that surprising. He was the only member of the Congressional Black Caucus to vote against Obamacare. He ran for the Democratic nomination for Alabama governor in 2010 as a conservative. After losing the nomination, Davis announced he was becoming a political independent. His political commentary began popping up at places like National Review Online, criticizing Democrats for the same reasons he does today—the reliance on identity politics, the lack of respect for faith institutions, support for affirmative action, and a hostile relationship with business and entrepreneurs.
It seems it was only a matter of time before Davis made the change official. Still, the facts are that a rising star, a black Democrat from the Deep South, and an early supporter of Barack Obama found himself on the outside of the modern Democratic party, looking in, and disliking what he saw.
Davis's shift differs greatly from that of his fellow former Democratic congressman from Alabama, Parker Griffith, who switched parties to the GOP in 2009 when it looked more likely that Griffith could win his primary as a Republican than as a Democrat. Griffith was rewarded for what appeared as, and most likely was, a political calculation with a resounding defeat in the 2010 Republican primary. Should Davis decide to run for Congress in Virginia, Republican voters may greet his apparently thoughtful and principled decision with more cheer.
Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, a state Democratic committeewoman named Jo Ann Nardelli has also switched to the GOP, citing her Catholic faith and President Obama’s recent announcement that he supports gay marriage. The Altoona Mirror reports:

Jo Ann has been a Catholic Democrat her entire life
One of Blair County's prominent Democrats, Jo Ann Nardelli, said Wednesday she has switched her voter registration to Republican because she can no longer support Democratic initiatives like same-SX marriage.
"As the Democratic Party has taken the stand for same-SX marriage, then I must make a stand on my faith that marriage is between a man and a woman. God's principles for life never change. His guidelines, given in Scripture, produce fruitful lives when you follow them," Nardelli said while making the announcement of her party switch in the Blair County Courthouse.
She said she was a member of the Democratic party for 40 years.

OBAMA THE GREAT DESTROYER
BY David Limbaugh
My newly released book, “The Great Destroyer: Barack Obama’s War on the Republic,” picks up where my previous book “Crimes Against Liberty” left off, chronicling President Obama’s record since mid-2010, and it’s not pretty.
I firmly believe that Obama is heading this nation toward financial catastrophe, is greatly undermining our national defenses, the Constitution and the rule of law, is severely damaging our energy industry and our energy independence, is dangerously expanding government and smothering the private sector and small and large businesses, and is polarizing this nation in a way that we haven’t seen in many decades, along racial, gender and economic lines.
In wholesale breach of his 2008 campaign themes, he is zapping America of its optimism and hope, replacing those with despair and malaise. He is using his bully pulpit to turn the American dream on its head, demonizing success and glorifying government dependency.
Rep. Paul Ryan has been warning for several years that America is in deep financial trouble, primarily because of our runaway entitlements, which account for almost $100 trillion of unfunded liabilities. Experts whom he has consulted warn that we can’t indefinitely defer this problem, that we have a window of perhaps two or three years to restructure them and return to a path of solvency.
You should notice that no one has really disputed Ryan’s assertion, suggesting it is hyperbole or sensationalism. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Office of Management and Budget Director Jeffrey Zients have had their chance, in congressional testimony, to refute Ryan’s claims. But they can’t — and don’t.
Yet what do they and the president they serve do about this imminent national train wreck? Absolutely nothing. President Obama’s Democratic majority in the Senate has not submitted a budget for well over 1,100 days. Obama has offered no plan to restructure entitlements and has even rejected his own cynically formed bipartisan deficit commission.
When Ryan questioned Geithner about Obama’s budget — for both its one-year and its 10-year projections — Ryan extracted an admission from Geithner that the administration has presented no plan beyond 10 years. Its current plan is merely to stabilize the growth of the deficit and kick the long-term problem down the road.
In my book, I include the pertinent exchange between Ryan and Geithner, and Ryan is persistent in pointing out that even if Obama’s budget purports to put a temporary bandage on the growth of the deficit, the deficit begins to skyrocket again after 10 years.
AD FEEDBACK
Geithner admits that and simply says that the administration doesn’t like Ryan’s plan because it is too hard on middle-income earners and seniors. The administration continues to say Ryan’s plan would destroy Medicare.
These are all lies. Ryan’s plan specifically would preserve Medicare while bringing it into solvency. He especially and expressly protects seniors, and his plan would help lower- and middle-income groups more than it would higher-income earners. If Obama and Geithner don’t like Ryan’s plan, then why haven’t they ever offered their own blueprint for restructuring entitlements, which is imperative if we are to save this nation from bankruptcy.
The dirty little secret — and it’s not really a secret — is that Obama’s budget doesn’t put a bandage on spending the next 10 years, either. He told us he wouldn’t add a dime to the national debt, but his own projections show he will add more than $7 trillion over the next decade, and the Congressional Budget Office scores it as closer to $9.5 trillion, which means his deficits will average almost $1 trillion per year — during the period he and Geithner claim they are stabilizing our national finances. Can you believe this?
In the book, I also go into great detail about how Obama is fundamentally changing our national defenses and readiness, how we are downscaling our conventional and nuclear forces while other nations — especially Russia and China — are ramping theirs up and terrorists and the rogue nations they support are feverishly pursuing weapons of mass destruction.
I can’t begin to adequately describe my new book in a column, but it suffices to say that it is an encyclopedic account of Obama’s war on America that includes some 400 pages and 1,300 footnotes. My goal was to leave no stone unturned in thoroughly and comprehensively documenting Obama’s abuses and misdeeds.
The book covers the gamut, including Obama’s wars on our economy, national defenses, values, religious liberty, businesses and guns.
You may think you know almost everything Obama has done the past few years, but I guarantee you that the cumulative force of his actions related in my book will nevertheless astound you and most likely make your blood boil.
My hope is that in some way, this book contributes to an awareness in the electorate of just how important it is that we defeat this man in November. Our nation’s future greatness and our children’s future depend on it.
David Limbaugh is a writer, author and attorney. His latest book, “The Great Destroyer,” is available now.
