I don't think this has anything to do with Rebecca nor do I think this has anything to do with being gay. It appears that him and Rebecca made a effort to be a couple and discovered, as they did in the past, that it was not meant to be. Being a single parent does not make one gay. If it did then we need to investigate why there are so many gay women in the world today. | |||||||||

I posted this in the Spanish forum but it belongs here, so here goes: I understand that Ricky and Rebeca were good friends. On-off relationship was mostly off, they didn't spend that much time together, the media made it seem to be something more than it was (specially media in 2003-2004). It was all media hoopla. There were several interviews from years back that revealed they didn't last long ever with their relationship when it was 'on'.
They didn't bother to tell the real nature about it because Ricky wanted to stay in the closet and still obviously wants to. Rebeca wanted to protect her friend and the last episode 2003-2004 was because Ricky wanted to promote his music with a girlfriend, plus Rebeca had just ended a relationship with Yazpec whatever his name was and needed perhaps some comfort, then she went to Europe with Ricky in 2003 when he was touring and the media found out. One thing led to another. That's how I see it. Rebeca is also a very good friend and longtime companion of Miguel Bosé. Need I tell more about him? 52 years old bachelor, never married, never intends to marry, huh? There are rumors that Rebeca is lesbian, no? I don't know if there's any truth, and I don't read Spanish media that much.

This is all speculation. You may "understand" other people's relationships, but unless you were with them, you don't really know anything. Why should this wonderful event be an opening for insulting Ricky and Rebecca? That is totally inappropriate. | |||||||||

I am not insulting anyone. Part of my post is my own opinions, part is fact like how their relationship was mostly off. I base this on numerous interviews I've read during many years I've been a fan. There is nothing bad about being gay, some are some are not, that's the reality. | |||||||||

I absolutely believe that there is nothing wrong with being gay, but you don't know enough about Ricky's personal life to make that assumption. Further, you are basically calling both Ricky and Rebecca liars. I have been a fan for many years and I too have read and seen nearly all of the interviews, etc. and the assumptions that you are making about their relationship are the most negative and insulting ones. The birth of these babies does not prove anything about the topics that you want to apply it to--I prefer to hear information from Ricky and not make assumptions about his personal life. And I also don't state opinion as fact. | |||||||||

His relationship with Rebecca was an unhealthy one and clearly not meant to be. It's my personal opinion that it was a dysfunctional relationship and I am very glad that it's over and has been over for a while. That doesn't mean she's a lesbian. I highly doubt that she's a lesbian. Ricky's sexuality can be debated, but I think Rebecca has a boyfriend at the moment. Personally, I don't know if Ricky is gay or not and I can honestly say I don't care either way. I still like him.
